Dear Runners,
Thank you for choosing the
2020 Platte River Half Marathon & Buckhorn Exchange Relay virtual race. We are very excited to offer this to everyone who has put in hours training for April 5th and has not let the current situation with COVID-19 stop them from participating, even if it is virtually.
You will receive all of the race swag that you would normally get: shirt, medal, bib, finisher’s cup, and koozie. The Virtual Race is to be run on your own – your choice of time, place, and date. No early alarm to wake you up so you get to the starting line on time, no long lines at the porta-johns before the start of the race, and no final final hill climb on the 8th Ave. viaduct(unless you want to do that)!
The Virtual Race must be completed and submitted by Sunday, April 12, 2020. Entries received after that date will not be accepted. Once you’ve run the 13.1 miles, all you need to do is submit your run time via this link:
Then send proof of your time (Strava, Garmin data, photo of your GPS, etc.) to
[email protected] by
10pm on April 12th. Your results will be posted to the official Platte River Half Marathon website.
Please note that your virtual race will be unsupported, with no aid stations, road closures, or additional assistance during your race. We also ask that you remember to keep a safe distance of no less than 6 feet with anyone that you are running with. Also, please remember the waiver that you signed when you registered*.
We will be mailing out all packets to those who participated in the virtual race. They will be mailed out once we have received and logged all virtual race submissions.
As an added bonus, you’ll get $20 off your 2021 registration! After we accept your results, we’ll send you an email with a special $20 discount code to be used for the 2021 Platte River Half registration during the month of May (2020). We’ll open up registration for all of May and give you the best price possible for the 2021 race!
Please stay safe, healthy and positive at this time. We appreciate your understanding and hope that you have a great virtual race!
Good Luck!
