Explore the Platte River Trail With Your Team
The Platte River Relay takes place on the scenic Platte River Trail in Littleton, just outside of Metro Denver, offering runners stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and the city skyline in the distance. The out-and-back relay course starts and ends at Reynold’s Landing trailhead parking lot near the famous Breckenridge Brewery, where you will be treated to a post-race celebration unlike any other.
The relay is split into three legs of roughly 4.0 miles, 5.1 miles, and 4.0 miles for a total of 13.1 miles, and a total ascent of around 300 feet. This scenic course will challenge and delight runners of all ages, levels, and abilities. Join us for an exhilarating journey through Littleton, Englewood, and Sheridan!
What to Know About the Relay Race Exchange Points
- The relay will consist of three legs of roughly 4.0 miles, 5.1 miles, and 4.0 miles.
- The relay exchange zone is located approximately at miles 4.0 and 9.1.
- The first and second relay exchange points are located at the trailhead parking lot on the west side of the Platte River across from Broken Tee Golf Course. The address is 2101 W. Oxford Ave, Sheridan, CO 80110.
- There will be a timing mat, aid station, and portable toilets at each exchange point.
- Each runner coming into the exchange zone will wear a belt with a timing tag and must cross the timing mat before handing the belt off to the next runner.
- Relay teams are responsible for their own transportation to and from the starting line and exchange points.
- Overflow parking is in the golf course parking lot on the east side of the river. Please park as close to the river as possible.

What to Expect During Our 13.1-Mile Relay Race
Get ready to tackle our 13.1-mile out-and-back relay course with confidence! Here are some essential details to know about the relay race:
The race starts promptly at 7 am in the Reynold’s Landing trailhead parking lot next to Breckenridge Brewery. Finish line support will close at 10:30 am.
Our awesome volunteers will staff five aid stations along the course, providing you with essential support like Gatorade, water, Honey Stinger Gels and Chews, and more!
We’re going cupless! All race participants will receive a complimentary HydraPak collapsible and reusable speed cup to clip, carry, or stow during the race to stay hydrated.
